Helmut Horn
President
One of the leading figures in the boutique hotel industry, Helmut Horn created Coastal Hotel Group in 1987, building it into a renowned boutique company that operated some of the finest resorts and hotels in the world including Hotel Jerome, Highlands Inn, Salish Lodge and Spa, Stein Eriksen Lodge and Bitter End Yacht Club. Mr. Horn was also responsible for developing the concept for Hawthorn Suites during his tenure at Coastal Hotel Group.
Prior to that position, Horn was Group Director and Vice President in charge of the six Dunfey Classic Hotels (now part of Omni Hotels). In 1974, he joined Hyatt International Hotel Corp. as Operations Coordinator for the entire Far East and Australia region, based in Hong Kong. Horn was also opening General Manager of the United Nations Plaza Hotel in New York, operated by Hyatt International.
A native of Germany, he graduated from the School of Commerce and Economics in Nordhorn, and the Hotel Administration School of Heidelberg, Germany.
