Cheryl Gavin
Vice President Controller
As Portfolio’s Controller, Cheryl Gavin is responsible for all financial reporting and accounting functions for the company and its properties. Gavin supervises both centralized and decentralized accounting functions, and is directly responsible for the monthly and year end financial reporting, as well as cash management and cash projections for all managed hotels.
Gavin’s extensive financial experience includes a position as Assistant Controller for First Hospitality Group, and previous to that, seven years as Assistant Controller for Coastal Hotel Group. She began her career at The Continental Companies, gaining experience at the Sheraton River House in Miami, the Sheraton Key Biscayne and the Ramada Beach Resort in Ft. Lauderdale, and then moving on to Corporate Controller for Meritage Hospitality Group. She is a graduate of Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management, with a BA in accounting.
