A Leader in Green Hotel Management  

Portfolio Hotels & Resorts is a concerned and responsible member of the green hotel management community, taking its commitment to creating a more sustainable environment seriously. Portfolio’s headquarters in Rosemont, IL was designed and constructed to meet LEED® (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certification criteria, in keeping with Portfolio’s “green” philosophy exemplified in many of our managed hotels.

Portfolio currently operates multiple Green Seal Certified hotels located in California, including the Radisson Hotel LAX and the Sheraton Gateway  in Los Angeles.  In addition, the company developed and previously managed the Orchard Garden, San Francisco’s first hotel to be awarded LEED® certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), only the third hotel in the U.S. and fourth hotel in the world with the certification at the time.

The Radisson LAX in Los Angeles achieved a 4-Key Rating in the Green Key Eco-Rating Program with Green Key Global, one of the first Radisson Hotels in the United States to earn this rating. This property has also achieved Green Seal™, Inc’s Silver Level certification under the GS-33 Environmental Standard for Lodging Properties. This significant accomplishment gives the Radisson LAX the distinction of being the first and only hotel within the Radisson brand to achieve Green Seal lodging certification. In addition to these Green certifications, the Radisson LAX has also achieved Leadership Level in the California Green Lodging Program, in addition to receiving the 2011 Los Angeles County Green Leadership Award.

Portfolio Hotels & Resorts strives to continually enhance this corporate philosophy of environmental responsibility through green hospitality management programs including Green Meetings, recycling programs, Earth Day participation and other property-level initiatives.
